Glasgow

Glasgow Central Station decided to shower us a welcome literally with heavy rains and strong winds. Luckily, our hotel was just a stone throw away from the train station!

Our hotel next to Anchor Line Restaurant

As much as we were excited to immerse ourselves in the beautiful 19th Century architecture that surrounded us, the weather was against us. We decided the best thing to do was to wait for the rain to stop and stay in our room. It was probably the fatigue from the long train journey, but we dozed off and woke up just in time for dinner. The weather had worsened and we settled down for a nice meal at Anchor Line restaurant which was thankfully just next to our hotel.

The restaurant had an opulent vibe that felt warm and inviting.

PINK BUCHANAN
brockmans / st. germain elderflower liqueur / lemon juice / pink grapefruit juice

This elegant and citrusy cocktail was simply delightful! With a cosy fireplace next to me and chatty company (my mum), we discussed our plans for the next day as we impatiently waited for our dinner. As the evening progressed, the persistent drizzle outside made the ambience inside all the more cosier!

With our tummies and hearts full but pockets emptier, the only right thing to do next was to walk off the decadent caramel cheesecake we had (and yes, we devoured it before I could take a snap).

Determined to explore the place, we layered up in our winter coats and gloves and braced ourselves to step outside. We walked around Buchanan Street which felt like shopping heaven. Except shops were all closing and we aimlessly walked the streets to soak in the late-night vibes before retiring back to our hotel!

Buchanan Street

It is a pity we didn’t get a chance to spend more time there since we were there only for a night to catch our breath before making our way to Oban the next morning!
